Noel McInnis, who said, <span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201c&#8230; I received this advice from a mountain stream when I asked it, &#8220;If you were literate, what would you tell me?&#8221;:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">FLOW<br \/>\nBe,<br \/>\nas water is,<br \/>\nwithout friction.<br \/>\nFlow around the edges<br \/>\nof those within your path.<br \/>\nSurround within your ever-moving depths<br \/>\nthose who come to rest there\u2014<br \/>\nenfold them, while never for a moment holding on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-49\" src=\"http:\/\/nancyherrick.com\/notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Mountain_stream300.jpg\" alt=\"Mountain stream\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Accept whatever distance<br \/>\nothers are moved within your flow.<br \/>\nBe with them gently<br \/>\nas far as they allow your strength to take them,<br \/>\nand fill with your own being<br \/>\nthe remaining space when they are left behind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When dropping down life&#8217;s rapids,<br \/>\nfroth and bubble into fragments if you must,<br \/>\nknowing that the one of you now many<br \/>\nwill just as many times be one again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-50\" src=\"http:\/\/nancyherrick.com\/notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Mountain_stream300-2.jpg\" alt=\"Mountain stream\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And when you&#8217;ve gone as far as you can go,<br \/>\nquietly await your next beginning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Consider this poem, deepening and widening our summer topic regarding the power of rest. \u00a0It was written by Rev.
